Tayama recently donated florals for the 2nd Annual San Diego Horticultural Society Gala on Thursday, March 1, 2001 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The event honored SDHS's Horticulturist of the Year, Evelyn Weidner. The arrangements were later auctioned off to benefit the society's efforts at promoting the enjoyment, art, knowledge and public awareness of horticulture in the San Diego area, while providing the opportunity for education and research.
