A Hand-Tied Gardenia Wedding Bouquet (continued)
Are you still with me? This is where it starts to get a bit tricky and involved. But hang in there -- I promise you'll be pleased with the results. And just as a reminder, keep in mind the two rules for working with Gardenia flowers:
1. ALWAYS handle the flower from the back, never touching the flower head itself.
2. CONSTANTLY SPRAY the flower with water to keep it completely hydrated.
Let's continue...

The Gardenia Wedding Bouquet |

Criss-cross at least two medium guage 12-18" lengths of floral wire through the stems.

Twist both ends of the "X" first, then bring down both sides, twisting as you wrap the Gardenia stem as shown above.

Cover the wires with green floral tape. Prep as many flowers as you'll need for the finished bouquet.

Select the foliage or vine of your choice and twist around and down with additional wire and tape. Don't worry about using too much tape and wire! In this case, the more the better, as the combination will provide additional stability and support.

Strategically place the finished Gardenia stems at varying lengths from each other and connect with wire. Twist and wrap down until you have the desired length and look you want. Allow plenty of time to place and adjust the flowers, and don't forget to KEEP WATER-SPRAYING the Gardenia flowers!
Once your arrangement is finished, cover it with plastic and refrigerate until use.
